Isabell Werth became interested in Wintec saddles via her famous dressage trainer Dr Schaulten-Baumer who was using the very first Sport models in his stables whilst training Isabell.
Dr Schaulten Baumer approached Mr Assenmacher of Waldhausen (Wintec's German distributor) because he was unhappy about the wear the saddles were showing after heavy use in his stables.
Ron and Ken Bates soon learned of Dr Schaulten Baumer's interest in Wintec saddles and have had the privilege of working with Isabell and Dr Schaulten Baumer to formulate the Wintec Pro Dressage saddles ever since. Specific Pro features influenced by Isabell are the suede, seat shape, panel shape, flexibloc system, adjustable Y girthing system, special wear insert to cater for special boot grip for the lower leg, surcingle and flexibloc system.
Isabell, from a young girl working under a highly talented trainer, has gone on to Win Individual Gold and silver medals at 2 Olympic Games - Barcelona and Atlanta and was recently crowned World Champion for the second time in Rome. All the time riding in a Wintec Pro Dressage.
The Wintec Pro range was extended over the years to include additional models also developed in conjunction with Olympic riders. Monica Theodescrue designed her own version of dressage saddle known as the Pro Classic, whilst Matt Ryan developed the Pro Eventer and Pro Cross Country saddles for Jumping and Eventing.
The man made equisuede used in the Pro range of Wintec saddles is similar to what the industry refer to as "Clarino". Equisuede replicates the molecular structure of real leather thereby causing it to have similar characteristics. Equisuede breathes and absorbs moisture like leather however it is much more durable. Similar suede is also used world wide in clothing, shoes and handbags.
Equisuede is only used in Wintec's premium models due to its expense and unique benefits. Its microfibre based surface is very soft making it extremely comfortable to ride in whilst providing the rider with the perfect level of grip.
