In 1998 Ron and Ken had another great breakthrough and found a new leather like material they call Equileather which has high performance and hard wearing capabilities. This material was used to design the Wintec 500 all purpose and dressage saddles.
Feedback from the English and American markets also inspired the design of the saddles to change from having long points to short points, closed flaps to open flaps and flexible points on the end of the Wintec elastiflex tree.
The most innovative outstanding feature of Wintec's New Generation saddles is the NEW EASY-CHANGE Gullet System which allows the head of the saddle to be opened without any unstitching and the gullet changed to one of 6 different sizes. Changing the gullet enables the saddle to be custom fitted to a horse's wither and is currently taking the world by storm.
